Program Structure
Utah Electrical Training Alliance's Inside Wireman apprenticeship combines paid employment with IBEW/NECA electrical contractors and classroom instruction. The program requires 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 720 classroom hours. Apprentices attend school for a week at a time and work approximately six to eight weeks between school blocks. The training organization is based at 7466 S Redwood Road in West Jordan.
The inside route covers electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities, including lighting, receptacles, motors and controls. Telecommunications is a separate program. Contractor assignments can be anywhere in Utah, from Logan to St. George; applicants must be willing and able to travel rather than assuming employment near the training center.
Requirements
Applicants must be 18 or older, have a high school diploma or GED, and meet the algebra requirement. The program accepts a passing full year of high school algebra or a qualifying college course. Its specified Tech Math alternative requires a score of at least 75 percent. A valid driver's license must be maintained.
Required application documents include education records, proof of graduation and algebra, and identification information. Submit the requested documents within thirty days. Applicants who do not meet minimum requirements are not scheduled for testing or interview and must reapply after qualifying.
Application Process
Applications are accepted year-round with a $75 processing fee. Follow the official online application instructions, select Inside Wireman, and complete the file. Complete applicants receive aptitude-test scheduling information by email. Passing the test is required before an interview, and interviews take place as needed.

What You Earn
Apprentices pay semester tuition, books and modules. A complete current amount and dated hourly wage schedule are not quoted here. Ask for current charges and employer pay terms; the application fee is only one expense.
Utah's 2020 apprenticeship report names this inside track, and the current provider describes registered apprenticeship. DOPL separately identifies the organization as an approved apprenticeship-program provider in a continuing-education record. These sources do not constitute a current independent federal registry check for this track. Training, employment, completion and individual licensure remain distinct.
