Corrections Policy

If something on Trades Directory is wrong or out of date, we want to fix it. This policy is set by Paul Trotter, the editor.

How to report an error

Use the Report a correction link on the listing, or the contact page. Tell us what is wrong and, if you can, link the official page that shows the correct information. Schools, programs and other organizations can also tell us about their own offering directly.

How we check a report

We check every report against the official source for that fact, as set out in our methodology. If the source supports the report, we correct the listing. If the source is unclear or out of date, we may ask the organization responsible. A program's written answer about its own offering can support a correction when the program agrees to be quoted. A report that only an unofficial source supports is not enough to change a listing, but it can prompt us to re-check it.

Corrections go through the same review and release checks as any other update.

How corrections are dated

When a correction re-checks a listing's key facts, its "Information checked" date moves to the day of that check. A fact checked separately, such as a cost or a program's confirmed answer, shows its own date. We don't move a listing's date for a change that re-checked nothing.

Replies

We aim to reply to messages sent through the contact page within 2–3 business days. Corrections can take longer while we check the source.
