Program Structure
Wyoming Statewide Electrical JATC combines 8,000 hours of paid electrical contractor work with four years of classroom training. The program is sponsored jointly by Wyoming NECA and IBEW Locals 322 and 415 and includes residential, commercial and industrial electrical work.
Applicants choose the Casper or Cheyenne program area. Both use the classroom campus at 2080 North Skyview Drive in Casper, and apprentices may need to travel anywhere in Wyoming for contractor assignments. Classroom attendance is six weeks each academic year, with class weeks running from Monday afternoon through Friday. Homework continues between visits.
Contractors do not pay apprentices for classroom weeks. The JATC provides housing without charge for out-of-town apprentices, who bring their own food, bedding and toiletries. Ask about class dates and the financial effect of time away from paid work before accepting a place.
Requirements
The standard entry route requires applicants to be 18, have a high school diploma or GED, hold a valid driver's license, and document one credit of Algebra I or accepted higher mathematics. The sponsor also accepts its specified SkillsPrep math course; GED scores alone do not meet the math requirement.
Submit proof of age, education and mathematics, your license, and a driving record obtained within 30 days of application submission. Veterans and experienced electrical workers may qualify for alternate entry procedures with supporting documentation. Review the sponsor's exact exceptions before assuming that education records or selection steps are waived.

Complete the application and supporting documents within 30 days of starting, or a new application is required. What You Earn
Apprentices earn wages for contractor work, with progression tied to work hours and training. Ask for the wage agreement that applies to your assignment; no single statewide hourly rate is quoted here.
Annual classroom registration fees vary: the sponsor lists $210 for first year and $360 for fourth year. Apprentices supply a laptop, hand tools and work clothing. WYOJATC describes its program as registered with the U.S. Department of Labor. That sponsor statement does not establish automatic individual electrician licensing.
