Program Structure
The Electrical Training Alliance of Western Oklahoma offers an Inside Wireman apprenticeship combining electrical-contractor employment with 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 756 hours of classroom education. Apprentices learn under licensed journeyman supervision while developing construction electrical skills. The training organization is based at 1700 SE 15th Street in Oklahoma City.
The apprenticeship serves western Oklahoma, including the Oklahoma City and Lawton jurisdictions. Participants must be prepared to travel to assigned jobs. The sponsor's Construction Wireman/Construction Electrician route is separate and has a different purpose; joining that route should not be treated as automatic enrollment in this apprenticeship.
Requirements
Applicants may apply at 17 but must be 18 before employment in the apprenticeship. The published requirements include a diploma, GED or qualifying associate degree, algebra preparation or an accepted Tech Math alternative, and a valid driver's license. The brochure also describes a limited application route for high school seniors approaching graduation.
Review the official application instructions for documentation and the exact education requirement applicable to you. The selection process includes an aptitude test and oral interview. Meeting basic requirements allows consideration; it does not ensure a place in the apprenticeship or a particular contractor assignment.
Application Process
Begin with the sponsor's application page and create an applicant account. A $25 application processing fee applies from July 1, 2026. The instructions say the fee is paid by credit card after account approval. Follow the office's directions for completing the file and receiving selection information.

Discuss the work jurisdiction and classroom attendance before making plans based on a possible selection. Do not interpret the availability of an account-registration page as a promise of immediate work.
What You Earn
The apprenticeship provides paid contractor work alongside education. Selected apprentices receive tuition through a scholarship program. Ask for the scholarship terms and an itemized explanation of books, tools and other participant charges; the application fee alone is not a complete cost estimate.
The sponsor's 2026 brochure identifies registration with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Apprenticeship. This is a sponsor-hosted registration statement, not an independent registry lookup. Completion, employment and individual electrician licensing are separate outcomes, and no automatic license or job guarantee is made here.
