Program Overview
Southeastern Technical Institute’s Electricity program in South Easton combines theory and practical electrical work over 750 hours. The program page and the 2026–2027 catalog both call it a ten-month program; the catalog's program schedule says 39 weeks, and the program page lists a January start. Classes meet Monday through Thursday, 4:30–9:30 p.m., with the daily meal break included in those hours. The school is at 250 Foundry Street. This listing covers the full Electricity training program.
Curriculum Highlights
Training covers residential wiring standards, commercial wiring applications, industrial controls, troubleshooting, testing, and meter use. First-semester work includes electrical theory, safety, electrical applications, and job readiness; the safety course leads to OSHA 10 certification. Students practice installing receptacles, switches, and lights, and learn to interpret wiring diagrams and prepare stock lists. Job-readiness instruction includes resumes and cover letters. Second-semester theory and applications build toward commercial installations. The catalog requires school work shirts, boots, and safety glasses for shop activities, and students work at their own pace toward proficiency in each competency.
Admission Requirements
Admission is selective. The Electricity criteria require an application, proof of high school graduation or GED/HiSET, a passing Accuplacer entrance examination, one confidential reference from a recent supervisor, employer, or teacher, and an interview with the program director. They also list a satisfactory CORI review, a health-insurance form, an educational-purpose form with a copy of a license, an emergency-contact form, and a recent health exam and immunizations. In-district applicants submit a Proof of Residence Form stamped by their city or town. The general policy allows candidates from any town or state to apply. Begin at the official admissions page; the $35 cost to apply covers the application and entrance exam and is nonrefundable.
Cost & Financial Aid
The 2026–2027 catalog’s Electricity pages, which carry a July 2025 revision date, estimate tuition at $5,000 for district residents and $9,000 outside the district, plus $340 for books, $1,875 in program/student fees, and $200 for uniforms/equipment. The district includes Brockton, East Bridgewater, Easton, Foxborough, Mansfield, Norton, Sharon, Stoughton, and West Bridgewater. The catalog says financial aid is available to those who qualify.
Career Outcomes
The school describes the program as preparation for entry into the electrical skilled trades, including apprenticeship, and the catalog says graduates will seek employment as an apprentice electrician.
