Program Overview
Tulsa Tech's Electricity program is an adult career-training option at Lemley Memorial Campus in Tulsa. It develops practical wiring skills through hands-on residential, commercial, and industrial projects, and students practice designing, installing, and repairing electrical wiring and equipment in shops built for hands-on work. The 2026–27 program page lists a five-month full-day option starting in August or January and nine-month morning or afternoon options starting in August. All options meet Monday through Friday, so even the half-day schedules involve regular weekday attendance.
Curriculum Highlights
Training covers wiring, electrical equipment, blueprint and schematic interpretation, and the National Electrical Code. Students learn to plan and carry out electrical projects. The program's credentials and certifications section lists OSHA 10 Construction and First Aid/CPR/AED Adult-Pediatric. Tulsa Tech's College Relations office works with students on prior learning assessments toward an Associate of Applied Science or a technical certificate at area colleges. Any credit depends on that separate assessment and the receiving college; completing this training is not itself an associate degree.
Admission Requirements
Applications for full-time programs are accepted throughout the year. Applicants register for an account, complete an application, complete a program visit, and submit documentation of academic preparedness. Adult applicants take reading and math tests at Tulsa Tech unless they have recent ACT or SAT scores or an associate degree or higher; testing is by appointment and requires a state-issued photo ID. Selection uses a 100-point system, with up to 60 points for the program visit and 40 for academic preparedness. Applicants meeting the minimums join a wait list, and slots go to the highest totals.
Cost & Financial Aid
The Electricity page lists adult tuition of $2,400 and a $150 technology fee, plus estimated books of $419 and estimated tools, supplies, and certifications of $871. These direct costs are separate from food, housing, transportation, and personal costs, which the financial-assistance office estimates separately. Financial assistance is available through several options, and the school directs applicants to its scholarship and grant information and to studentaid.gov for federal aid.
Career Outcomes
The program develops the practical skills used in electrical installation and repair. The five-month day option runs 7:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.; the nine-month options run 7:30 to 11 a.m. or 11:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Class and work-based-learning times may vary.
