Program Overview
Lincoln Technical Institute offers the Electrical and Electronic Systems Technology Certificate Program at its Union, New Jersey campus, 2299 Vauxhall Road. The program page lists 50 semester credit hours, 1,200 instructional hours and a completion time of approximately 52 weeks, including holidays and scheduled breaks, for day, afternoon and evening schedules. Hands-on instruction is on campus, with some courses delivered online, and Lincoln Tech uses animations and simulations for troubleshooting practice. The program code is ESTX100.
Curriculum Highlights
Program objectives include applying electrical theory; installing, maintaining and troubleshooting residential and commercial wiring; installing security alarms, CCTV and fire alarm systems; setting up telecommunications, audio and video systems and structured cabling; working with smart home and building automation; and following OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards. Lincoln Tech says the program prepares students for NCCER Core, Level 1 and Level 2 Electrical exams and OSHA 30. The course list mixes construction wiring with low-voltage, alarm and controls topics, so compare it with programs focused only on building wiring.
Admission Requirements
The campus catalog requires a high school diploma, a state-approved equivalency such as the GED, HiSET or TASC, or an associate degree or higher. Applicants complete the Learner Assessment, need reliable internet and a device that meets the school's system requirements, are interviewed by an admissions representative and sign an enrollment agreement. New students attend an orientation, and the Union catalog describes an introductory enrollment period of 10 calendar days without tuition obligation.
Cost & Financial Aid
The Union schedule of fees for enrollments on or after June 1, 2026 lists $30,550 tuition, $715 books, $74 uniforms, a $950 student fee, a $150 technology fee and $2,103 in estimated tools, for a total of $34,542. The catalog says the school is an eligible institution for federal Direct Loans, Pell Grants, FSEOG and Federal Work-Study, and that financial aid is available to those who qualify; eligibility depends on the student.
Career Outcomes
Lincoln Tech says graduates may find entry-level work with electrical service companies, commercial and residential construction firms, building maintenance teams, fire alarm and security providers, and cabling and telecommunications contractors.
